Chapter 5: Base Building, Level 1

Guys, a long time without a story to tell.

That was an absolutely amazing response for the Godspeed project.  There was Mrs. Sudha Murthy, and there was Varun Agarwal. Austin Shirley made in brilliantly(a great choice, plus his routine added in wonderfully well), and Dr. Kalam always finds a place without a doubt.

I believe, with this project, you got an opportunity to know these people, you admire, more deeply. If you studied this chapter properly, one thing I can bet on is- now you know that all the great things didn't come to these people easily. They worked. There were times when they fell down, but they got back up every time, but only this time they were better and stronger than before.

Just an element of something that has inspired a generation.

Now after  this brief intro, I suppose you wonder if this chapter was meant for simply some "intrinsic motivation". No guys.

You all should know, remember, memorize and live by the:

 Second Law of Product Development:

"Never do anything that can't be marketed."

Chapter 4: The Godspeed

Hello, guys. We all know that only a few of you were able to keep up, up to this point. It has only been 3 chapters and we haven't even started out the core development of the product yet.
I don't even know if you are able to relate to or guess what the product actually is.

I don't know how many of you dream to have a product in your hands that you can call your own, but relate to this analogy:

This earth is a battlefield and you all are just ordinary human beings ruled by the powerful, and the weak are hunted down. In this world, you have to collect your weapons and become a gladiator if you wish to thrive, let alone survive. A war is coming and you all shall have a choice: be the hunters or live in slavery forever.

With this, get ready for chapter 4:

Here, you are supposed to get in the shoes of the person you admire. We shall call this person "Godspeed". This can be a celebrity, a businessman, a leader, or anyone else you idolize. And now you need to understand and read about this person closely. You have to literally be him/her(the person you have decided for this drill), think like them, get into their brains and make decisions like them. After this successful enactment, I need you to write down the following points(minimum 100 words each):
  1. Which person did you choose and why?
  2. Godspeed's daily routine(from waking up to sleeping hours)
  3. What inspires Godspeed?
  4. How many times has Godspeed fallen and gotten back up and fought in life?
  5. How can I find the Godspeed in me?
I know this can be a little tricky in the beginning. Initially, I challenge you to try out  this drill without the help of the internet, or books, or any other reference. You would find how vaguely you idolized a person without actually knowing him/her.
After this drill, you shall actually find your Godspeed. Alongside, you shall have more original material, and a step closer to you own product.

Chapter 3: Understanding Psychology

This is a task associated with understanding a particular topic with the psychology viewpoint. Psychology reading makes you think one step ahead of the person in front of you cause you can basically predict behaviour.
This is something you'll find quite common in the people we see around us who are successful and make us wonder how they do it. They seem to understand a person, at the first glance and are usually the ones who people don't lie to.

In this particular Chapter#3, you are required to do something along the same lines.

Your task here is to identify 3 people around you who have some sort of a problem. They shall be your experiment rats. Your rats should be having a lack of inspiration, or motivation, or be filled with lethargy.  But they all have one thing in common, that they are all basically goal-less(I'm sure you'll find plenty of them around).
I want you to observe these 3 people closely and identify what makes them so clueless of the future and so lethargic. And find out the things that brings excitement to these people.
Now out of these things that bring these people to excitement, you need to identify the ones that can actually be productive for them.

This has to be a detailed study and if you do this good, you'll love this drill. Cause you'll soon be able to predict this person's next move. And this person represents a million like him/her.

Submission details: Give a report on the behavioural and psychological analysis you were able to achieve/decipher/observe of these 3 people individually(Don't specify their names). Mail me at greenwasblue@gmail.com latest by 18th March, 2016.

All the best.

Chapter 2 summary

Good job guys. Congratulations on successfully completing chapter 2. This one was a little monotonous, but then again, best things in life are the most boring ones.

The goal achievement in order of timeline(early ones first) are:

  1. Astha
  2. Kriti
  3. Shrishti
  4. Diksha
  5. Anchal
  6. Sushant
  7. Abhishek
  8. Gautam
Here, I wouldn't like to comment on the quality of the content which has been compromised in some of the cases.
We would talk about here of what are the consequences and benefits of this task:
  1. We needed a niche topic to start with, so we decided motivation is something we can contribute to in a significant manner(considering the fact that most of us are so motivated already)
  2. With this topic, we got to know a side of us we don't generally express because we think it is unusual for the world to accept these facts as being true and realistic.
  3. You got a chance to get out of your comfort zones, and walk into the realm of writing that I incessantly insist you all to do(for others, it is English and Mathematics we are talking about).
  4. This was an important predecessor to chapter #3.

Chapter 2: Learning To Write

Hello everyone, this is the second chapter of the book of your professional lives and here, I want you all to learn the basics of monetization. We had many options to pursue from here like starting right off at product development but that would be too ambitious. The best is to learn to walk cause it's just the second chapter.

So, here we aim to understand what basically is money, and how tough, or easy, or tricky it is to earn a part of the meat.

We shall be starting with a niche topic. But seeing that the team holds diverse viewpoints and understanding of things, we shall start with something common. At this point many different routes were available, but what I've decided is that our niche, but not-so-niche topic would be "Motivation for Youth."

So, you all have a topic here that you shall write on in the following manner:

"Top ten reasons that motivate me to _________."

The article is supposed to be around 500 words.

Ask any queries in the group itself.

P.S:
My next post is going to be on the benefits of this whole drill of the next two and a half months. Trust me on this one, you all shall get a million reasons if not already to pursue this whole-heartedly. So just sit on tight and enjoy the ride.

Position allotment

To start with, you all are being allotted a role that you all are required to play till the next two and a half months to follow. Nobody is being forced here and an assumption has been made that you all are here by choice. Based on the commitment of hours, it looks like the whole journey is going to be a cakewalk.(1 hour a day, 5 days a week is being assumed as the least count right now)

You all are being given two designations, mandatory in the initial phase. Those are:
  1. Product visionary
  2. Content writers
Other that the above broad ones, the specific tasks in this project that you shall handle are mentioned. Here are the positions you all have been put in charge of based on your interests and after studying your answers you submitted earlier.

Name     Position     Task
AnchalThe toolsmithYour task is to keep the team together. You have to act as a moderator and see that the team is always mended and works together. This resonates with your ambition to be an Indian army officer.
Shelley SurgeonThis job demands pulling everything together. What Anchal does for the team, you do for the task at hand. You have to bring in the pieces from everywhere and make them stay together.
Shrishti and Bisht     ArtistsYou are required to make sure that when everything comes in, it looks good. You have all the discretion to make anything and everything attractive how-so-ever it suits you. You are the face of every product. The product will reflect your taste for style.
Sudanshu          TesterThis job requires a keen analysis. You have to study and understand the viability of the product at hand. Your job requires an inside-out analysis based on the past business models, the current trends, and then implementation of the product. So you are the tester.
Kriti          AnalystYour task is to look out for the side of people that is young and ambitious. You are required to look at things from an alternative perspective of just beauty and elegance, so that people stay and love what they use, not for the product's quality but its aura. You are a flexible marketer and can try any experiment over the product.
AsthaCouncellorThis is a tricky one. This job requires sharp insight into everything that is not good in the product. A critic will always point out the limitations of the product and offer solutions. Moreover, this job needs to be very understanding of the long-term consequences. You always have to be a step ahead of the team.
Diksha and BhadriAngelsYou are the managers who have to check out for the milestones, best technologies for the team, see if the team is doing the assigned tasks in an orderly fashion and make a report of the team in order to make the product clearer and mature every day.

Chapter 1 : Knowing everyone onboard

You all are supposed to fill a form and, according to your interests, you all have been allotted a position that may sound a bit comic to you all initially, but soon you all shall take in your roles deeply and seriously.
